09/02/2008 - Miami, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Miami Heat signed free agent center Jamaal Magloire on Tuesday. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

He is an excellent rebounder with a big body. On the defensive end he will plug up the paint and on the offensive end he can score. Magloire, 30, split the 2007-08 season between the New Jersey Nets and the Dallas Mavericks. He averaged 1.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in 9.2 minutes per game, playing just 31 games.
An All-Star in 2004, Magloire has averaged 8.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.03 blocks and 24.2 minutes per game during an eight-year NBA career which has included stints with the Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers, Nets and Mavericks.

UCLA vs. Kansas
In the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader, UCLA will play in a role which they are very unfamiliar with that of the underdog. Only twice this season have they been getting points from the handicappers and both times they covered. Over the last three seasons UCLA is a reliable 23-7 ATS in this unfamiliar role. UCLA has not fared well against Big 12 opponents recently going 1-7 ATS since 1997.
